Pesticide Rules, Seed Treatments & Compliance Updates for Vermont Farmers and Applicators

Join the Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition and UVM Extension for a roundtable on key regulatory changes and compliance requirements affecting pesticide use and treated seed in Vermont.

Steve Dwinell, Director of the Division of Plant Industry at the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, will explain what’s changing, which requirements apply to your operation, and how to stay in compliance. Bring your questions – this session is designed for discussion.

Topics will include:

  • The newly adopted rule on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for neonicotinoid-treated seed
  • New pesticide label directions tied to the EPA’s Endangered Species Act (ESA) compliance strategy
  • Respirator use requirements on pesticide labels and available compliance assistance
  • Key considerations for Worker Protection Standard (WPS) compliance
  • Overview of FieldWatch Registries by Sydney Miller, FieldWatch Data Steward
