SUMMARY:NOFA-VT 2026 Winter Conference
DESCRIPTION:The NOFA-VT Winter Conference provides a valuable opportunity for farmers\, gardeners\, land stewards\, educators\, students\, policymakers\, and organizers in the food system to share ideas\, resources\, and skills. \nThis year’s theme is Seeding the Future. Every day\, everywhere\, people are sowing the seeds we need to grow a more just and resilient food system. The ideas and values we invest in today will be the harvests of our future\, and we invite you to join us at the NOFA-VT Winter Conference to think like a seed-saver—literally\, as keynote speaker Ira Wallace shares her wisdom from a lifetime of stewarding and safeguarding heirloom seeds\, and metaphorically as we cultivate the seeds of possibility in a full slate of agriculture and food-system-related workshops\, roundtable discussions\, meet-ups\, and activities. \nOn Saturday\, February 14\, enjoy the main conference\, while on Sunday\, February 15\, we will deep-dive into singular topics during all-day intensive workshops. Attend either day\, or join us for both! \nInterested in volunteering at the event? Volunteers are central to the success of the conference\, and it’s a great way to connect with others and be behind the scenes! Learn more and sign up!

SUMMARY:Hayland and Pasture Management for Conservation & Birds
DESCRIPTION:Join The Bobolink Project\, the Champlain Valley Farmer Coalition\, and the Vermont Grass Farmers Association for their upcoming farmer event: Hayland and Pasture Management for Conservation & Birds. This event brings together farmers and service providers to explore how working haylands and pastures can support grassland birds\, pollinators\, and soil and water quality. We’ll cover how to assess fields for bird- and bee-friendly habitat\, share practical management strategies\, and highlight resources and programs. Farmer and grazer perspectives are central to this discussion. What you share will directly influence future program design\, ongoing research\, and the development of bird-friendly pasture management strategies. All are welcome\, whether you’re new to these ideas or already doing this work. \nRegister here. \n
